Ms Edosio-Deelen spoke of the need to tell authentic stories that focus on the lived experiences of ordinary Nigerians. These are stories, she said, that need to be told and for which there is a growing hunger. She also pointed out that it was possible to make a very good film even with a limited budget.

Ms Edosio-Deelen, a director/cinematographer, studied at both the New York Film Academy and the Motion Pictures Institute of Michigan. In addition to her film production projects, she has worked, among other things, as a video broadcast journalist for BBC Africa and Deutsche Welle Germany and as a TV director for Nigerian television networks like Ebony Life TV and Ndani TV. In November 2014, she was granted the Film and Television Director of the Year award by Ebonylife TV.

The workshop, which was organised for PAU students, was supported by Zenith Bank.
