The exams which started on the 22nd of February 2021 for all classes, except for the 100 level students, are considered a tremendous achievement by the school’s management as the semester comes to an end. This is in spite of the retrogressive effect experienced from the pandemic on learning activities.
It can be recalled that the SMC 2020/2021 academic year started in October 2020 (read here) with online lectures, but by 18th January, 2021, (read here) the school’s management agreed to resume in-person lectures and classroom activities, having acquired the necessary facilities in compliance with the recommended safety guidelines by the NCDC, as well as gaining the permission of the NUC.
The SMC management continues to ensure the safety of students and staff in these interesting times by administering the exams in stages. To that effect, the 100 level students who constitute a majority of the university population will commence the first semester examinations later on the 15th of March, 2021. At that time, the 200 to the 400 level students of the Mass Communication and the Information Systems and Management Sciences (ISMS) department, as well as students of postgraduate studies would have completed their examinations. All examinations will be completed on the 27th of March, 2021.
We wish all of our students the best as they write their examinations.
