In a bid to emphasize sportsmanship, collaboration, and community engagement, the students of the School of Media and Communications (SMC) alongside alumni took part in an inter-university football competition in March 2025.

The competition took place at the Pan-Atlantic University field and was well attended by top officials of the university, including the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Peter Bamikole; the Registrar, Mr. Kingsley Ukaoha; and the PAU Alumni President, Mr. Oscar Oyinsan. Their presence reinforced the institution’s commitment to alumni relations and students development.

The match was tightly contested with various teams showing exceptional skills. The regular time ended in a 1-1 draw, leading to an interesting penalty shootout. The alumni team emerged victorious, taking home the championship cup with much camaraderie.

The event featured a lively performance by the PAU Dance crew, which energized the crowd. NED K, a student of Film and Multimedia Studies, also performed. Her performance showcased the creative talents within the school community.

After the game, trophies and medals were presented to players and winners. The university’s appreciation and commitment to teamwork, extracurricular activities, and perseverance were evident. Not only were students and alumni encouraged to actively participate, they were encouraged to view the competition as a form of bonding.

Overall, the inter-university competition was marked by energy, celebration, and connection. It was a testament to the university’s thriving community spirit, fostered lifelong connections, and balance between academic and personal life.
