MSc in Media and Communication students return to campus for Intensive week

From May 5 to 9, the Modular SMC MSc FT 17 students returned to campus for another intensive week. This particular week saw the students engage in written assessments, group projects, and other academic exercises that provided practical experiences. A notable highlight was the ‘Meet the Expert Series’ – an initiative that connects seasoned professionals with students who seek to enhance their career journey. This edition featured Mr. Adim Isiakpona, Co-founder and group CEO of the People’s Magazine, a leading marketing and digital communications firm.

Mr. Adim’s message resonated deeply with the students as he emphasized the importance of adopting a problem-solving mindset. According to Mr Adim, “It is through problem-solving that you can discover for yourselves a need, an area to explore in your careers”. He encouraged them to not limit themselves but read widely because the solution can be found amid most challenges, resources, and information. His session was a continuous reminder of the need to proactively tackle challenges in the modern world.

The series is organized by Dr. Anthony Okoeguale, a faculty member at the school of Media and Communication. It is aimed at inspiring students to apply the lessons from the class to their individual career paths.
