On March 17, 2020, the Internship and Alumni Office, in collaboration with MSc FT 12 students, organised a special edition of ‘Meet the Expert’ series to celebrate the International Women’s Day. The organisers of the event themed, ‘Building Effective Leadership in the Workplace: Enablers, Challenges, and Opportunities’ hosted the following panellists:

Osayi Alile – CEO, Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT) Foundation

Funmi Omo – Managing Director at African Alliance Insurance Plc

Tokunboh George-Taylor – Managing Director, Hill+Knowlton Strategies Nigeria

Dupe Akinsiun – Head, Leadership & Capabilities Center of Expertise at Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company, Nigeria

The panellists thrilled the audience (consisting students, alumni and staff of PAU) with insightful narratives about their career journey. In addition, they highlighted some of the contemporary issues facing women in the workplace, and stressed the need for women to cultivate leadership qualities while shunning mediocrity.

Ultimately, the speakers made a call for women to provide support for one another, building strategies to mitigate their current challenges, and imbibing the group dynamics.
