The School of Media and Communication as part of the collaborative effort in hosting the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program, (CADFP, 2023) organized a day conference presentation training workshop for graduate students in communication and related fields.
The event was held online on the 7th of July with participants selected from among graduate students in communication and related fields who applied from all over the country. The facilitator was Dr. Ajeori Agbese, an associate Professor of Communication at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, who is currently in PAU for the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program hosted by SMC. Participants were instructed on the general principles and essential steps of planning and delivering a top-notch conference paper. Dr. Nelson Okorie gave an opening remark on behalf of the Dean of the School of Media and Communication, Dr. IK Obiaya.
Mainly, the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program being hosted by SMC is a project that involves a collaboration to research Nollywood using the oral history method for PAU’s Nollywood Studies Centre. Dr. Obiaya is the Project lead.
