The Dean of the School of Media and Communication, Dr. Ikechukwu Obiaya spoke at the maiden edition of the TEDxPAU that was held at the Honeywell Auditorium in the Lekki campus on Saturday the 4th of November 2023,

Speaking on the topic “Modelled Education as a Lifestyle,” Dr. Obiaya stressed that education should not be limited to the confines of a classroom but should be an inseparable part of daily life. 

“Should education just be a way of life or a moment in one’s life? He asked. “Be the lesson that you want to teach, not necessarily by behaving in a certain way, but by having the values that you want others to imbibe. Be the change that you want to see. Effect changes in the little spaces where you are, and lastly, be in the details. We cannot live our lives as humans in compartments- focusing only on the big things, but by putting in the effort, we can all change the small things.”

The event, which was organized by students of the Pan-Atlantic University led by an FT14 student, Victor Bella, featured other notable speakers, including Carl Cruz, CEO/MD of Airtel Nigeria; Prof. Enase Odu Okonedo, Vice Chancellor of Pan-Atlantic University; Eizu Uwaoma, CEO of Hexavia Limited; Ayodeji Razaq, GCEO of Red Media Africa; Jide Sipe, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Ecobank; Dr. Kennedy Nnadi, GCEO of Pennek Global; and Akachukwu Okafor, CTO & Co-founder of Shuttlers.

The TEDx PAU event, is the maiden edition and the first of its kind in the university. The occasion provided a platform for leaders and thinkers to share their innovative ideas and an opportunity to network.
