This Workshop, themed “Reporting the Nigerian Oil & Gas Sector,” is a specialized course aimed at fostering deeper understanding and knowledge of the Oil & Gas/Extractive Sector, so as to report it better.
The School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, in collaboration with the Natural Resource Governance Institute, announces a 5-day Master Class in Oil & Gas Reporting. The Workshop, themed “Reporting the Nigerian Oil & Gas Sector,” is a specialized course aimed at fostering deeper understanding and knowledge of the Oil & Gas/Extractive Sector, so as to report it better.
At the end of the course, participants are expected to acquire working knowledge and skills to research, write and produce balanced and professional stories that will inform stakeholders and the wider members of the public better on the developments in the sectoral areas of transparency, accountability, governance of licensing regime, as well as state owned enterprises.
Practicing Journalists who wish to acquire knowledge of Oil & Gas/ Extractive sector governance with specialized knowledge in reporting issues of transparency and accountability, governance of licensing processes and state-owned enterprises.
N375,000 per participant (including accomodation + dinner)
Full scholarship is available for 20 participants based on some competitive criteria:
1. Complete the online application form not later than 7 days from the date of this notice.
2. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for further tests.
3. Sponsorship covers course fee, accommodation, a stipend, meals and team-building activities. Alumni of previous runs of the Master Class programme are encouraged to apply. Limited spaces available.

They came to my school Graceland College but at the time I did not show much interest. It was when I had gone to study for an A' Levels programme at Qaardan Educational Foundation that Dr. Okafor told me that I am good at graphics and some other IT related subjects and that she would like for me to study here. So I decided to take a look at it, then I applied and got a scholarship eventually.
I am excited about the forthcoming matriculation ceremony though I will be attending alone. This is because my family resides in the east. It will not be easy to have them all come from the east.
At SMC I have met nice teachers, tough subjects, very good labs so I get to learn a lot of things. There are very good computers in the lab so I get to practice a lot especially with the Mac.
